Sit-ups possibly banned?

I found this article on the sympatico home page this morning. It discusses the rising concern about sit-ups with the medical crowd and alternatives to performing the sit-up in a safer way. The article discusses how a regular sit-up, which is usually done on a flat surface, can cause strain on your spine and cause more damage than it produces good results.
